ACCOUNTS
A disciplined close begins with organised accounts.
Accounting support should connect recorded activity to a defensible period-end position. We help organise ledgers, approved adjustments and supporting schedules so that your finance process has a clear sequence. The scope can complement an internal team or form part of a recurring outsourced arrangement.
Establish the accounting baseline
We review the chart of accounts, opening information and the way transactions are classified. The engagement identifies which balances and periods are included. Previous adjustments, unexplained balances and inconsistent coding are brought into a query process rather than carried forward without discussion. Accounting policies and material judgements require appropriate approval.
Structure the period-end work
A close calendar sets out collection, reconciliation, review and reporting stages. Agreed work may include journals, accrual schedules, prepayments and balance-support files. Each output should show the period covered and its review status. Missing evidence is recorded as an outstanding item, not concealed by a balancing entry.
Hand over a coherent accounting file
Deliverables may include updated ledgers, a trial balance, supporting schedules and a review note. We explain changes affecting comparison with earlier periods and identify the work required next. Tax filings, statutory submission and an audit opinion are not implied by a general accounting engagement; any such service needs an appropriate separate scope.
Common questions
Must we change software?
Not necessarily. We first consider whether the existing system and available access can support the agreed accounting work.
